Robert Louis Jr. A self taught, metro Detroit singer/songwriter, musician, and podcaster. He grew up and ran the streets of Royal Oak Michigan. He’s a jack of many trades, but a master of none.
He’s been a martial arts Black Belt, a kickboxer, and a grappler. He has retained just enough of that knowledge to know he doesn’t want to fight anymore. When Robert isn’t writing a new song, recording, or creating a new podcast, he like to take long rides on his motorcycle. To Robert, a long motorcycle ride equals at least 600 miles in one day. “I don’t really need to go anywhere in particular, I just like to go.”
“It’s hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the market place. Of course, don’t ever tell anybody they’re not free because they’re gonna get real killing and maiming you to prove that they are.” -Jack Nicholson Easy Rider
His podcast, Uncle Bob’s Broken Radio is a wealth of local musicians and singer/songwriters. Says Robert about the show, “I don’t like to call it an interviews; My guests are not applying for a job or judgment.
It’s a conversation, with a lot of laughs, a lot of live music, and a lot of fun.” Although it is a relatively low cost production, the live sound is really good. Robert does all the recording of the show, except when there is more than one guest. In that case he calls in his friend, Brian Coogan who has the equipment and the ability to create a larger production.
But also Robert does all the editing of the show. “I’m always concerned that my guests are happy with the final cut, and I make sure they sound good so that the listening audience continues to listen.” Uncle Bob’s Broken Radio can be heard hear on Tap Detroit on Sunday afternoons from 2:00pm to 4:00pm
